WHO is your MONKEY?

That song George Michael sung about the monkey makes me wonder about a lot of things. I love George. I wonder if Monkey is a habit or a person…if you look at it like a person who is your Monkey? Do you have someone you go to just because you know they are there ? The Monkey may not even care about you, he or she is just available. Some people have a Monkey person that they go to for sex. When no one else is there to give the good things that can go with sex they go to the Monkey Person for just a roll in the hay. The monkey doesn’t mind it because they really are numb to emotions and they accept the moment for the moment. You may have someone in your life that you really love, yet they may upset you or not get you on some level or the other, so you have this monkey out there, this person who sort of lets all your negative bounce off of them and your positives don’t even fill a 1/2 cup for them. The monkey is just there, so in many ways he or she seems unreal to you. You use them they use you. Sometimes, you think about the monkey you think about the whole realationship if you can call it that. You wonder why the monkey never send you an email and asks you how you are..how could they not care for you? You have spent time talking, having “moments.”. You lie awake and think that life sucks at the moment and you get up and walk to the computer and email your monkey. You don’t have any pride left when it comes to this person. They don’t care if you have pride or not because to them you are just a moment. If you show up again its okay and if they never see you again its fine. They don’t have candles lit and waiting by the window. We know this because once or twice we may have cared for the monkey. The monkey may have started out as someone we had feelings for someone, we had a crush on or dated or wanted to date and somehow it became an emotionless thing. We realized the Monkey was going to use us and we were going to use them. We go to the zoo of our emotions. We have no pride when it comes to this person. We have begged, cried maybe then stopped. They always seemed strong, they always seemed as if they didn’t care and maybe thats why they draw us to them. Can you sit your monkey free ? I think we all have some kind of monkey running around in our lives, but one day someone will ask…”Do you love your monkey or do you love me…?” and what will the answer be ?
